C. Paul Stubbe

C. Paul Stubbe

C. PAUL STUBBE is the owner and namesake of Charles Paul Gem Designs. Paul is involved in all aspects of the business, including all phases of the design and manufacturing process of fine jewelry, repairs, stone setting, appraising, antique jewelry, and gemology.

Paul has been a rock hound since he was a child and has always loved making jewelry and collecting rocks, minerals, and gems. Paul studied geology at Penn State University and is also a Graduate Gemologist of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). He has also studied stone-setting, jewelry making, and repair work with GIA in New York City. He is still active with the GIA as a member and Past President of the Delaware Valley Alumni Association. Paul opened his first store in November of 1974 and has been located in Dorneyville since 1988.

One of Paul’s favorite custom designs is an Art Deco style pendant with an emerald, diamonds, and black onyx inlay that converts to a brooch with a hidden screw that was designed for a customer.

Paul’s favorite aspect of the jewelry field is being able to see the reaction of a client when he presents them with a completed custom design and it exceeds their expectations. Paul also enjoys traveling to trade shows to purchase new and exciting gemstones to use in custom designs and finding exciting new designers and merchandise.
